Projoint Formula
Seven Seas unique patented Projoint formula combines bone-building calcium with vitamins C, D and K, crucial trace minerals manganese and copper plus the amino acids cysteine, lysine and glutathione.

Calcium is the most abundant mineral in the human body. It is vital for bone development and maintenance. Of the body's total calcium, about 99% is in the bones and teeth where it plays a structural role. Good food sources are milk, cheese and yogurts, tofu, green leafy vegetables, nuts and seeds, tinned fish (with bones), white bread (which is fortified with calcium).

Vitamin D is essential for absorption of calcium into bone. Vitamin D is obtained by the action of sunlight on the skin and eating foods containing it like oily fish, cod liver oil, full fat dairy products, margarines.

Vitamin C is essential for the renewal and maintenance of cartilage and bones and other tissues. It is essential to form collagen, an important protein used to make tendons, cartilage, ligaments, skin, blood vessels, and scar tissue. It also acts as an antioxidant to offset the damage that may be caused by free radicals. As it cannot be stored in the body, daily intake is needed.

Vitamin K has a role to play in blood clotting and it also aids in building strong bones. Vitamin K is found in a variety of foods including green leafy vegetables such as spinach and broccoli, soya beans, liver, egg yolks and wholewheat.

Manganese is a trace mineral. It is involved in the formation of bone and joint tissue. Dietary sources include whole grain cereals, eggs, nuts, seeds and green vegetables.

Copper is required to make the connective tissue that bolsters bone strength. Copper’s role in collagen formation, a connective tissue in bones and skin, underscores that calcium and copper are vital to build and maintain strong bones.

Cysteine, lysine and glutathione are amino acids variously involved in the formation of collagen, metabolism of fats, muscle production, tissue renewal and immune system maintenance.
